Juan Maria "Gato" Nimo - Motorcross rider

I’m Juan Maria “Gato” Nimo, I’m 36 years old, I’m from Patagonia, Argentina. I started in motorsports when I was 4 years old, developing my career as a motorcross rider. At the age of 18, when I was already a professional rider, a fall caused me a spinal cord injury, for which I am now a wheelchair user.

From then on, I set myself countless challenges in different sports. With the goal of becoming a professional motorsport driver.

In 2013 I set a record of 1,201km in a wheelchair marathon.

I toured different countries with a dance and acrobatics show. Which led me to winning the Cannes media festival with an advertisement known as “The Ramp Lesson”.

I became an quadricycle rider and then I got on a motorcycle again.

In 2017 I finally achieved my accreditation as a professional motorsport driver in Road Tourism.

After this amount of sports and ambitious challenges that I achieved in this time, I can say that there was always something that generated doubts in me. I was afraid of not being firm enough, fastened and in optimal position to avoid injuries in my muscles and skin. This did not allow me to enjoy 100%.

When Vicair arrived in Argentina, I was advised to try the “Vicair AllRouder O2” activity cushion. I used it in my training sessions and for the car with which I raced. This gave me the confidence to try the “Vicair Active O2” wheelchair cushion, it was instantly comfortable, because of the support it provides when sitting on something that feels rigid. It became my everyday cushion.

As the days went by, I understood that it was not only protection but also care. I started using it on my karting, my wakeboard, my marathon wheelchair, on my hot sandy beach days and surfing. I increased my training on surfaces that were uncomfortable for me and even put it on my race bike adapted to compete in the desert for more than 10 hours a day for days. It gives me so much self-confidence that this year I tried again the “World Rally Raid Championship” race to improve myself and get a podium against conventional drivers.

Today, I enjoy these achievements that have united me with the brand every day for more than 3 years. I love to see them grow and that more people join the care and comfort that VICAIR WORLD offers.
